Acoustic Technology Inc, today announced that a state-of-the-art ATI Mass Notification System has been successfully installed at Camp Sayar, Farah Province, Afghanistan.
The US Army Corps of Engineers is helping to build this critical facility, which is part of a complex for the Afghan National Army’s 207th Corps in Farah Province designed to help bring stability to the volatile region. After all the necessary support structure has been completed, the facility will be turned over to the Afghan National Army and house up to seven battalions.
ATI installed a proven and reliable Mass Notification System that is capable of immediately alerting the entire complex in an emergency. The Outdoor Giant Voice system includes two high-powered speaker stations (HPSS16). Each 1600-watt speaker station is able to provide clear, intelligible voice announcements and alert tones. In addition, two Central Control Units (CCU) provide a primary and a secondary redundant control point in case one is not accessible. Implementing an independent and secure wireless radio frequency communication infrastructure enables military personnel to control either siren from any control station at a moment’s notice.
"ATI developed a unique feature - the integration of wireless Emergency Panic buttons that enable easier installation, more flexible placement, and dual communication activation options for redundancy,” said Claudia Markovich, Global Development Manager. “Twelve Emergency push buttons are placed at strategic locations throughout the facility so that military personnel can instantly activate the emergency Mass Notification System."
Due to the size of the facility, ATI also deployed small, low-powered wireless Push Button Repeaters to ensure the reliable reception of any button presses. By integrating wireless push buttons with its advanced MassAlert® software, ATI created a very powerful and flexible emergency alerting tool that allows personnel to configure and create new alerts for the wireless Push Buttons in a flash. Because the entire system is being constantly supervised, faults are instantly reported to a Control Station and an operator is immediately notified.
